    Sean Oliveira worked as an EEOC Investigator for fifteen years before earning his law degree and joining Ogletree Deakins. Sean has extensive experience in workplace investigations and agency/administrative law. Since joining the firm, he has successfully defended employers before administrative agencies nationwide, helping to dispel systemic and class investigations and saving clients time and money. Sean has also successfully defended clients in state and federal trial courts. He enjoys counseling clients across industries to cost-effectively meet their goals.

    Kate volunteers time with MO SHRM and will be bringing the chapter up to date on the latest details impacting HR.  

    Kate works for Polsinelli out of their Kansas City office where she advises clients on a wide variety of workplace issues, including employee leaves of absence, disability accommodations, religious accommodations, and conducting workplace investigations.

    Malcohm Smith, Community Outreach Resources and Planning Specialist with the Wage and Hour Division of the US Department of Labor.  

    Malcohm will offer an informative presentation on Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) essentials.  The presentation will provide an overview of the FLSA to give you the knowledge to accurately administer payroll and FMLA policies.  In addition, our presenter will provide guidance regarding Break Time for Nursing Mothers.  Attendees will understand hours worked, break times, and employer requirements and provisions of the FLSA.
