Amanda Andrade is the Chief People Officer for Veterans United Home Loans and will be presenting "Unified and Strategic Partners" about the behavioral aspects of various business cultures and work environments and what role HR plays in influencing culture.  This special program is pre-approved for 2.0 Strategic HRCI Credits and 2.0 SHRM Credits and will last until 10:00 am.

Lisa Broadway from the St. Louis District EEO Office will present an overview on recent EEO activity.  This may be especially timely with the new President taking office in January!

Mark Twain Behavioral Health will present ways HR professionals can recognize depression and stress management issues in the workplace, as well as ideas and resources to help employees handle these issues. 

Simon Sinek is described as a "visionary thinker with a rare intellect."  His TED Talk on Discovering Your WHY will be reviewed, and then Shelley Buhlig, Organizational Development Educator for Hannibal Regional Healthcare System, will faciliate activities and discussion to help HR professionals assess and develop their WHY.  The information will be helpful to attendees, and they will also be able to take what they learn and use it in their own workplaces. 

Amy Blaisdell, Attorney at Law / Officer, Greensfelder, Hemker & Gale, P.C. will present an employment law update focusing on the upcoming changes to the Fair Labor Standards Act and any other "hot" topics that may come up this Fall. Amy is always a knowledgable and enjoyable presenter.

Alan Kinsey, Vice-President of InquireHire will present, "Finding a Seat at the Table." 

Two significant trends are affecting the HR function:  The US is rapidly transforming into a knowledge based economy, and many day-to-day tactical HR functions can now be outsourced making more time for strategic contribution.  Alan will present specific ways to leverage a CEO's perception of the HR function into more of a strategic role. 

There is usually only an hour or two you get spend with an applicant before they are hired.  Since it is such a short time period, you want to ensure you are getting the most out of your interview.  There are numerous mistakes that all interviewers tend to make during an interview.  In this session, Jessica will first inform you what those top 10 mistakes are.  Then, you will learn how to avoid those mistakes and what you can do instead to ensure you making the best hiring decisions.  

Brandi Glover is the Executive Director for the NEMO Workforce Development Board. Brandi will present information on the Work Ready initiative, which is in place for Marion and Ralls Counties.  Learn what you can do as an HR professional and as en employer in order to encourage potential employees to become more work ready.

Dr. Rahul Basho, Orthopedic Surgeon with Midwest Orthopedic Specialists, will present information to HR professionals on helping our employees avoid injuries in the workplace.

Kelli Grelles and Sean Duggan from the Moneta Group will discuss retirement plan administration, investment management, and handling of revenue sharing in this presentation.  They will also review recent litigation surrounding the laws, which were revised in recent years.
